Outage probability analysis for η-μ fading channels

In this Letter we derive exact closed-form expressions for the outage probability (OP) in η-μ fading channels. First, a general expression in terms of the confluent Lauricella function is derived for arbitrary values of μ. Next, we restrict the analysis to physical η-μ channel models, i.e. to integer values of 2μ, and obtain exact closed-form expressions for the OP in terms of Marcum Q, Bessel ...

Outage Probability of Diversity Combining Receivers in Arbitrarily Fading Channels

We propose a simple and accurate method to evaluate the outage probability at the output of arbitrarily fading L-branch diversity combining receiver. The method is based on the saddlepoint approximation, which only requires the knowledge of the moment generating functions of the signal-to-noise ratio at the output of each diversity branch. In addition, we show that the obtained results reduce t...

Outage Probability Bound and Diversity Gain for Ultra-Wideband Multiple-Access Relay Channels with Correlated Noises

In this paper, Ultra-wideband (UWB) multiple access relay channel with correlated noises at the relay and receiver is investigated. We obtain outer and inner bounds for the IEEE 802.15.3a UWB multiple access relay channel, and also, a diversity gain bound. Finally, we evaluate some results numerically and show that noise correlation coefficients play important role in determining relay position.

Optimal Power Allocation for Outage Minimization in Fading Channels with Energy Harvesting Constraints

This paper studies the optimal power allocation for outage probability minimization in point-topoint fading channels with the energy-harvesting constraints and channel distribution information (CDI) at the transmitter. Both the cases with non-causal and causal energy state information (ESI) are considered, which correspond to the energy-harvesting (EH) rates being known and unknown prior to the...
